A heavy snowstorm paralyzed the city. An all time snowstorm snowfall record was set when 21.5" of snow fell. The greatest snow depth on the ground ever was also set when 17" of snow covered the ground. Winds gusted to 40 mph, producing huge drifts. Many farmers and ranchers were snowbound for nearly two weeks! The National Guard supplied the stranded with food and accessories. |

Extremely heavy rain flooded the city. A total of 6.24" of rain fell on Pueblo causing serious damage. Daily totals ranged from 1.12" on the 5th to 1.94" on the 2nd. This June was the wettest on record. Places in the vicinity of Pueblo received over 14" of rain, causing the Arkansas River to rise 27 feet above its flood stage! Over 15 feet of water was reported on the roadways in town at times!
